I’m sure we have all heard of Sunday resets. I love a good reset, but remember it doesn’t always have to be Sunday. I think doing a weekly reset on the day that works best for you is the most effective method. For me, it does fall on Sunday most of the time. I am going to share my top 10 favorite things to do on my reset day.
- Change Your Sheets
Cleaning your sheets once a week can feel like a lot, but I think it is a simple way to automatically feel clean and refreshed. Something about clean sheets after a shower just hits the sweet spot.
- Change PJs
Personally, I am a PJ set girl. I love going to bed in a cute PJ set; it makes me feel so cutesy and cozy. I find it best to change it every week. This way I’m not wearing one set for too long and it feels like a little reset.
- Wiping Down Surfaces
I find that my countertops in my room and my bathroom get dirtied up as the week goes on, so I like to wipe them down once a week. Before adding this to my weekly reset, I would find myself trying to remind myself to wipe them down when I had a feel moment, but just never getting to it. By adding it to the line up, it helps me make sure I get it down weekly.
- Unpack Bags
I always have bags lying around my room that are semi unpacked, but still have a few things left in them. Instead of letting these bags sit, I like to go through and unpack any left out bags I haven’t yet dealt with. I often will find things that I am looking for in them!
- Meal Prep
Now, I don’t go as in depth as planning out every meal and cutting veggies and putting them in the fridge, but I do like to think ahead a little bit. What I find helpful is creating a Pinterest board of food that looks good and then picking a few to try out during the week.
- Everything Shower
My fav! You can’t tell me you hate an everything shower. Doing one of these showers once a week feels so good and refreshing. Make it your own, add a fun hair mask and a good body scrub.
- Take Out Room Trash
Once a week I like to take out the trash in my room and in my bathroom. This is one of those things I always try to get to during the week, but never have the time or energy to do, so saving it for reset day is the best option in my opinion.
- Laundry
I don’t always do my laundry on my reset day, but I do like to finish off whatever I have started. So sometimes I will have already started my laundry but will still have the basket of cleaning clothes just sitting in my room, so I like to take care of that and put the clothes away.
- Organizing Clothes
When I say this, this does not mean reorganizing your whole closet, it just means do what is needed. Often during the week there is one drawer or shelf in my closet that really annoys me because of how messy it is. So, I try to just refold and organize one shelf/draw a week, that way it isn’t overwhelming.
- Look at the Week Ahead
Sometimes this can be overwhelming, but it really is helpful. I like to look at what upcoming assignments I have and add them to my calendar, think about workouts I want to do in the week ahead, and try to figure out how to manage my time for the week.
I hope this helps!
Till next Sunday,
Daisy
