Dealing with the freezing temperature can be difficult with fashion, especially when the temperature fluctuates drastically throughout the day. The best way to combat this is by correctly layering.

First, you need to start with a good basic tank. You want something that is going to cover your stomach fully so cold air doesn’t seep in. I have three recommendations.

  1. Garage Scoop Neck Cami
  2. Abercrombie & Fitch Cami Bodysuit
  3. Intimissimi Ultralight Top

Then, you put a sweater over top of the tank. Depending on how warmly you would like to dress, you can decide how heavy your sweater should be. If it is going to be much warmer later in the day, or you will be spending a lot of time inside in intensely heated rooms, I recommend going with a lighter sweater. However, if the forecast looks as though it’s staying below freezing, sticking with a heavier sweater is a good idea.

  1. Princess Polly Zip Knit Sweater
  2. Princess Polly Balloon Sleeve Sweater
  3. Altar’d State Striped Cardigan
  4. Altar’d State Pearl Button Cardigan

Of course you can’t survive the colder months without a trusty jacket. Having a standard puffer jacket is important, but playing around and having a variety of jackets can help keep your wardrobe feeling lively, even in the winter.

  1. Altar’d State Puffer Jacket
  2. Zara Short Coat
  3. Zara High Neck Coat
  4. Free People Fleece Jacket
  5. Boot Barn Sherpa Lined Jacket
  6. Boot Barn Corduroy Puffer

For those extra cold days where going outside feels like your nose will fall off, but you still have class to get to, having a scarf is key.

  1. Zara Plaid Scarf
  2. Old Navy Fringed Scarf
  3. Marcus Alder Strip Scarf

Now, for combatting the changing temps throughout the day, this method works perfectly. For the extremely cold days that turn normal cold, you can simply carry your scarf instead of wearing it. For the cold days that turn to an average temp, you can throw your jacket off and carry it or bring it back to your room (or wherever else you are able to leave it). Then, you have no need to change because you are already in a cute outfit that is warm, but not too hot, for the temp. Another option is to take off the sweater so then you just have the jacket and tank on. For that, something like the fleece jacket from Free People would be a good option.

Hopefully this was somewhat helpful! Layering may seem simple, but mastering how to do it effectively is important.

Till next Sunday,

Daisy
